HC Deb 20 February 1970 vol 796 cc206-7W
Mr. William Edwards

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what steps he takes when awarding grants towards the cost of repairs of historic buildings under the Historic Buildings and Monuments Act, 1955 to ensure that the public have a right of access to view the premises upon which the grants have been spent.

Mr. George Thomas

The offer of grant is made to an owner subject to conditions, one of which concerns suitable arrangements for the public to have access to the buildings. Grant is awarded only if the owner accepts the conditions.
