HC Deb 19 February 1970 vol 796 cc162-3W
43. Mr. Longden

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity what criteria determine the making by industrial training boards, of capital grants to technical colleges for the purpose of providing training places; and why those colleges, which have hitherto allowed the use of further education facilities for this purpose, have been denied such grants.

Mr. Harold Walker

Industrial training boards do not normally make capital grants to technical colleges. The boards and colleges may however make mutually acceptable arrangements for the gilt or loan to colleges of special equipment needed to provide suitable training courses.
