HL Deb 19 February 1970 vol 307 cc1331-2WA
LORD DENHAM

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether minimum conditions of service, regarding times of opening and goods supplied, are laid down to holders of concessions on railway stations, airports and motorways.

THE PARLIAMENTARY UNDERSECRETARY OF STATE FOR DEFENCE, R.A.F. (LORD WINTERBOTTOM)

Lessees of motorway service areas are subject to such conditions. At railway stations and airports, the terms of concessions are a matter for negotiation between the owning bodies and the concessionaries. I understand that in most cases they include requirements as to the standard of service to be provided.

House adjourned at twenty-two minutes before six o'clock.
