§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Minister of Overseas Development whether, in view of the work being done by the Afro-Asian Institute in Tel-Aviv in teaching and training students from the underdeveloped areas in improving and developing the wealth of their countries, and the financing of scholarships by the British Trades Union Congress, she will initiate some scholarships to the Institute from her Department.
§ Mr. WhitakerNo. It is not the present policy of my Ministry to finance scholarships at academic institutions in any country which itself operates a substantial aid programme.
