§ 50. Mr. Chatawayasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he will seek to provide funds for an adult education programme designed to increase the awareness of the problems of pollution.
§ Miss LestorI welcome any initiatives to increase public awareness of these problems. The Department is encouraging study in this field, and is taking part in the Council of Europe activities in Conservation Year 1970. The research councils are also studying these and related problems. But it is not for me to prescribe particular programmes to the bodies which provide adult education.
