HC Deb 18 February 1970 vol 796 c126W
62. Sir J. Gilmour

asked the President of the Board of Trade what has caused the oil pollution off the east coast of Scotland.

Mr. Goronwy Roberts

Fishing vessels and Service aircraft on training flights in the area have been alerted. Air searches by Shackleton aircraft have been carried out and inquiries have been sent to other countries bordering the North Sea, but it has not been possible to discover the cause.
