§ Mr. Dodds-Parkerasked the Minister of Transport if he will give a general direction to the Railways Board to ensure that its subsidiaries act in the exercise of the powers of manufacture and sale conferred by Section 48 of the Transport Act 1968 as if they were a company 75W engaged on a commercial enterprise in accordance with Section 134 of the same Act.
§ Mr. MulleyNo. I said in reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Leicester, North-East (Mr. Bradley) on 8th December that I had approved proposals submitted by the British Railways Board under Section 48(4) of the Transport Act 1968 as to the manner in which activities under Section 48(2) are to be carried on by the board or any subsidiary. The proposals included a reference to the requirement in Section 134 and explained how this would be complied with.—[Vol. 793, c. 27.]
