Mr. Leslie Huckfield

asked the Minister of Transport whether he will institute consultations with the various police authorities with regard to the regulations for the travelling of oversized loads; and whether he will make a statement.

Representations made by the County Councils' Association Police and Highways Committee concerning the movement of outsize loads are currently under consideration.

If it is concluded that changes in the regulations are necessary, then the chief officers of police will be consulted in the usual way.
