Mr. Hastings

asked the Minister of Public Building and Works (1) what was the final cost of the computer block and office block, respectively, showing separately the cost of the land at the Schedule E computer centre at East Kilbride;

(2) what were the dates on which contracts were let for the computer block and office block for the Schedule E computer centre at East Kilbride, and the dates on which these were handed over to the Inland Revenue.

The A.D.P. accommodation is an integral part of the office block and its cost cannot be precisely separated. At Bootle, progress on site has been delayed by difficulties which could not have been foreseen; the timetable is under review. At Cardiff it is hoped to meet the present completion date.

blocks. The latest estimate of the total cost of the project in advance of the settlement of the final account is £2.16 million. The land is held on feu at a rate of £2,890 per annum. The main contract for the whole project was let on 25th August, 1965 and it was handed over to the Inland Revenue in stages between October, 1967 and November, 1968.

(2) what is the estimated cost of the computer block and office block, respectively, showing separately the cost of the land, at each of the Schedule E computer centres at Bootle and Cardiff.
