HC Deb 16 February 1970 vol 796 cc48-50W
Mr. Lomas

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will show in table form those boroughs or county boroughs with a population of 50,000 or more where the number of Commonwealth immigrant children exceed 2 per cent. of all pupils in maintained primary and secondary schools; and if he will differentiate between the two types of school at the latest available date.

Miss Bacon

The following figures are not directly comparable with those given in respect of years before 1969, when it was not practicable to differentiate Commonwealth immigrants from other immigrants. The figures now given include immigrants from both the old and the new Commonwealth.
