HC Deb 12 February 1970 vol 795 c381W
50. Mr. Kitson

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is aware that probation officers overburdened with other work are sometimes required to be at attendance centres when offenders report there; and whether he will take steps by legislation or otherwise to provide that offenders should always report to police officers and not to probation officers.

Mr. Elystan Morgan

I am not aware of any such occurrence. An offender reports to the officer in charge of an attendance centre. No probation officer is so employed.
