HC Deb 11 February 1970 vol 795 cc342-3W
49. Mr. Eadie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what advice, from sources outside his Department, he has received concerning the average waiting period of applicants for training in Government industrial training centres in Scotland, which would assist him in future manpower projections in Scotland.

Mr. Ross

Government training centres are the responsibility of my right hon. Friend the First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity, but I understand from her that with one or two exceptions the waiting period for admissions to courses at the Scottish centres has been substantially reduced and there has of course been a substantial increase in the number of trainee places available.
