HC Deb 11 February 1970 vol 795 cc357-8W
Mr. Younger

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what was, in the year 1968–69, the notional rent as a percentage of gross annual value, of local authority houses included in the formula for the resources element of the rate support grant, the average rent as a percentage of gross annual value of local authority houses in Scotland, and the total amount by which local authorities were deprived of grant, through their house rents being below the notional rent percentage of gross annual value.

Mr. Ross

The notional rent income—net of rent rebates—prescribed for the year 1968–69 was 100 per cent. of gross annual value; and the actual rent income of authorities receiving resources element

a result of his consultations with interested bodies.

Mr. Ross

Assignment supervisors have been employed in Lanarkshire schools only. My hon. Friend the Joint Under-Secretary of State informed Lanarkshire Education Authority on 15th January that no further proposals for such appointments would be considered by the district inspector of schools and asked the authority to consider terminating as soon as practicable the appointments of assignment supervisors at present in post.
