Mr. Dean

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what estimate he has made of the gross cost of paying pensions at the current rate to all those over pensionable age and retired, who are at present entitled either to no pension or to a pension at a reduced rate; and how much of this will be offset by savings of supplementary pension.

About £100 million and £47 million a year, respectively.
