HC Deb 11 February 1970 vol 795 c339W
Mr. Fortescue

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what reply he has sent to the submission of the Food Manufacturers' Federation requesting that the implementation of the Fish and Meat Spreadable Products Regulations 1968 should, in the consumers' interest, be further deferred.

Mr. Hoy

My right hon. Friend has pointed out that the Regulations are based on repeated recommendations of the Food Standards Committee and are widely supported by consumer organisations, and that he sees no justification for delaying further this improvement in standards.
