§ Mr. Hooleyasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will tabulate in the OFFICIAL REPORT the percentage of the gross national product in each of the years 1970–71 to 1973–74 which will be devoted to the following items of public expenditure, as defined in table 1.4 of Command Paper No. 4234, assuming that the figures given in table 1.4 and 1.6 are adhered to and that the gross national product grows at 3 per cent. per annum in the period 1968–69 to 1973–74, namely, defence, overseas aid, assistance to employment and industry, housing, education, health and welfare, and social security.
