§ Mr. McNamaraasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he will now announce his intentions in the matter of a further grant to the Czechoslovak Student Scholarship Fund.
§ Mr. FowlerI received representations from the Committee administering the Czechoslovak Student Scholarship Fund that it had insufficient funds to finance some of the Czechoslovak students who satisfy the Committee's criteria for a maintenance award. The Government have decided to make additional grants to the Committee and a Supplementary Estimate of £6,000 for the current financial year will be laid before Parliament in due course. Meanwhile, the money will be advanced from the Civil Contingencies Fund. A further grant of £13,000 will be proposed in the Department's estimates for 1970–71.
