HC Deb 09 February 1970 vol 795 c241W
54. Mr. Dodds-Parker

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services by what date he expects the consultations about the use of Salterly Grange in Gloucestershire as an adolescent unit to be completed; what action he is taking to expedite these consultations after six months, in view of the sum of over £30,000 raised by the Mental Health Trust for this urgently needed project; and what action he is taking to look for another site if this one is rejected.

Dr. John Dunwoody

The South-Western Regional Hospital Board made a formal approach to the local planning authority on 15th January. Consultations of this sort are not usually very protracted and I would expect these to be completed within about two months without further action by me. The Board and the Gloucestershire Association for Mental Health are not looking for another site at this stage.
