HC Deb 06 February 1970 vol 795 cc210-1W
Mr. Christopher Price

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is now the procedure, following the Government's acceptance of the Latey proposals, for pupils who have attained the age of 18 years in secondary schools who wish to withdraw from school assembly and religious education in circumstances where their parents are unwilling to request that they be excused.

Mr. Edward Short

No case of this kind has come to my notice. The statutory provisions relating to the procedure for the withdrawal of pupils from religious education have not been affected by the Government's acceptance of the Latey proposals.
