HC Deb 05 February 1970 vol 795 c183W
86. Earl of Dalkeith

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity how many of the men employed by the British Steel Corporation at the Redpath Dorman Long steel plant in Edinburgh at the time of its closure in May, 1969 are still registered as unemployed.

Mr. Dell

On 10th November, 1969, which is the latest date for which a record is available, 24 of the 241 workers discharged as a result of the closure of the Redpath Dorman Long steel plant were still registered as unemployed. The number registered as unemployed at a date later than 10th November, 1969 cannot be provided except at a disproportionate cost.
