§ 68 and 69. Mr. Hiltonasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science 173W (1) to whom the grant in relation to the Community Association was sent; who received such grant; and who controlled the expenditure of such grant;
(2) what grant his Department has made to the Community Association of Bethnal Green for improving facilities in the premises they occupy at Oxford House; and what terms of lease were agreed as a pre-condition for advancing any grant.
§ Miss LestorA grant of £447 was paid to the Community Association in 1957 on the basis of an agreement to lease. A further grant of £10,000 was offered in 1967 of which £7,148 has been paid. Payments were made to the Midland Bank for use on the Community Association project, which I understand was supervised by the Oxford House Council on behalf of the Community Association.
