HC Deb 03 February 1970 vol 795 c101W
Mr. Chichester-Clark

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity if she will make a statement on the recent meeting between the Minister of State and representatives of the National Federation of Building Trades Employees on the subject of the Construction Industry Training Board.

Mr. Dell

I met representatives of the Federation at their requst on 2nd January to hear their views on the Board's levy proposals for 1970–71.

They pressed for a reduction in the total amount of levy to be raised and in certain of the rates proposed for individual categories of worker. While emphasising that the Board had to meet its liabilities, I undertook that the Federation's views would be taken into account in consideration of the Board's proposals.
