HC Deb 02 February 1970 vol 795 c35W
Mr. Dempsey

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what consideration he has given in connection with the proposals for building schools at Sikeside, Coatbridge, regarding estimated costs, size, starting and finishing dates.

Mr. Ross

Lanarkshire Education Authority proposes to build a non-denominational primary school and a Roman Catholic primary school on the same site at Sikeside, Coatbridge. Plans for the first phase of this project, which is estimated to cost £395,000 and which will provide accommodation for 315 pupils in each school are being considered by my Department. Work on the site is expected to start in March and the Authority hopes that the accommodation will be ready by August, 1971.
