HC Deb 02 February 1970 vol 795 cc43-4W
Mr. Eadie

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he is satisfied that radioactive effluents from nuclear power installations have caused no harm to marine life off the shores of the United Kingdom; and what part his Department has played in the investigations now being made on this subject.

Mr. Hoy

We are satisfied that there has been no measurable effect on marine life. In addition to the regular control and monitoring of discharges into the sea, our scientists undertake extensive investigations into the level and affect of radioactivity in the marine environment.
