asked the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications what progress has been made in the detection of evaders of television and radio licence fees in England and Wales, and Scotland, respectively, in the period from 1st November 1969 to date.

In the two months ending 31st December, 1969 the number of combined television and radio licences in England and Wales rose from 13,983,000 to 14,080,000 and in Scotland from 1,407,000 to 1,417,000.
