asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs to what extent during his recent visit to the United States of America he discussed with the President or his officials matters of mutual concern connected with the Middle East, including arms for Israel and the question of the supply of Chieftain tanks.

Mr. M. Stewart

During our visit to the United States my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister and I had useful discussions of matters of mutual concern connected with the Middle East. These discussions were confidential and the House will not expect me to go into details.
