HC Deb 18 December 1970 vol 808 c454W
Mr. Turton

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will now make a further statement about the export of calves.

Mr. Anthony Stodart

I regret that a slip of the tongue in answering a supplementary question on 8th December caused me to mislead the House and has given rise to misunderstanding. Once animals are disembarked in another country, our regulations cease to apply and a check on their welfare is then a matter for the importing country.—[Vol. 808, c. 228.]
