HC Deb 18 December 1970 vol 808 cc472-3W
Mr. Clinton Davis

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to misleading advice contained in advertisements issued in local newspapers by his Department relating to the protection and remedies afforded by the Rent Act, 1968, in that furnished tenants should refer their cases to rent tribunals before notice to quit has been served, with the result that the period of security which they might otherwise enjoy could be abridged; and if he will make the necessary corrections.

Mr. Amery

My attention has been drawn to comments made about these advertisements. I do not consider that the advice given in the advertisements was in any way misleading.
