§ Mr. Cledwyn Hughesasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether the use of live fowl pest vaccine is to be made permanent in this country; what regulations or conditions he is attaching to its uses; and whether his authorisation of its use means the acceptance by him that fowl pest is now endemic in Great Britain.
§ Mr. Anthony StodartLive vaccines of the Hitchener B1 strain are being approved for use in this country on a 455W continuing basis alongside the inactivated vaccine. No conditions attach to the use of these vaccines provided they have been licensed under the Therapeutic Substances Order. I would not accept that approval of the use of the Hitchener B1 vaccine will make fowl pest endemic in Great Britain.
