HC Deb 18 December 1970 vol 808 cc471-2W
Mr. Roy Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if, in view of the work being done by the Monmouthshire Branch of the British Productivity Council, as evidenced by the recent report which he has received, he will reconsider his decision to phase out the grant to the national body.

Mr. Bryan

No. I regret that no trace can be found of the report referred to having been received. However, while the valuable work of the British Productivity Council and the various local productivity associations is recognised, the Government consider it more appropriate for these services to be financed by industry.
