§ Mrs. ThatcherAs my hon. Friend knows from my Reply to an earlier Question, I intend to fulfil the promise in our election manifesto to encourage direct grant schools. I have not yet received the proposals which I invited the Direct Grant Joint Committee to let me have and I am not yet ready to make any statement.
