§ Mr. MaudlingThe Bill will seek to introduce a single system of control for370W immigration from overseas. But so far as entry to this country is concerned, there will be no significant change in the law of nationality; and citizens of Australia, New Zealand and Canada, as of other Commonwealth countries will retain the status of British subjects in our law. I should also make it clear, in view of a contrary impression which appears to have arisen, that visitors and working holiday makers will continue in practice to be welcomed in the future on the same basis as they have been hitherto.
