asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many supplementary benefits offices in the United Kingdom, and what percentage of the total, have a lavatory on the premises which is accessible to the public throughout the opening hours of the office; and how many of those offices which lack a lavatory on the premises are more than 200 yards distant from the nearest public convenience.

The number of supplementary benefit offices equipped with such facilities is 204, representing 49.5 per cent, of the total. Of the remainder, all but 49 are situated within 200 yards of a public convenience.
