80. Mr. David Clark

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many persons over 80 years of age in England and Wales he estimates are not in receipt of any State pension and are not eligible under the National Insurance (Old Persons) Act, 1970.

Possibly 45,000, including 15,000 recipients of supplementary pensions; I must emphasise that we can make only a very rough approximation.
