§ Mr. Laurance Reedasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what consideration his Department has given to the installation of permanent tidal gauges in the Dover Strait and other shallow waters.
§ Mr. Anthony GrantA suitable gauge has not yet been developed but the Natural Environment Research Council is giving priority to the development of offshore tide gauges. Until such a gauge becomes available, it would be premature to consider possible sitings.
