HC Deb 15 December 1970 vol 808 c295W
Mr. David Clark

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what was the per capita expenditure of the Leeds Regional Hospital Board and the Huddersfield Hospital Management Committee for 1969–70; and what was the comparative figure for England and Wales.

Mr. Alison

The information is as follows:

Revenue Expenditure 1969–70 (per capita) Capital Expenditure 1969–70 (per capita)
£ £
Leeds Regional Hospital Board 15.3 1.5
Huddersfield Hospital Management Committee 12.3 .02
England and Wales (Regional Hospital Boards) 14.5 1.7
Note: The figures have been calculated by dividing total expenditure by estimated population of the area served, and exclude expenditure by boards of governors of teaching hospitals. The figures of revenue expenditure for the Leeds Regional Hospital Board and for England and Wales include expenditure of a regional nature which cannot be allocated to individual hospital management committees. The regional and national figures for capital expenditure include the cost of major works; there were no major works in progress in the area of the Huddersfield Hospital Management Committee during the financial year 1969–70.
