HC Deb 15 December 1970 vol 808 c317W
Mr. Rose

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry on what basis he calculates the cost of serving the proposed National Industrial Relations Court, the extended Industrial Tribunal and the increased registration obligations following from the Industrial Relations Bill.

Mr. Dudley Smith

I have been asked to reply.

Estimates of the nature and volume of cases to be dealt with under the industrial relations legislation by the National Industrial Relations Court, the Industrial Tribunals and the Chief Registrar of Trade Unions and Employers' Associations take account of such relevant statistical and other information as could be collected, making reasonable assumptions about the extent to which people will take advantage of the provisions of the legislation.
