Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer why, in view of the Government's declared policy of limitation of increases in wages, salaries and emoluments to contain inflation, he will not introduce a 50 per cent, tax upon the payments now being made to ex-Cabinet Ministers for the payments they are receiving for their memoirs resulting from details obtained during the period when they held Ministerial office.
