§ Mr. Ashleyasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if she will make a detailed statement about the educational effect of the shortage of Medresco hearing aids OL 58 and OL 63.
§ Mrs. ThatcherReports from Her Majesty's Inspectors indicate that difficulties have been caused in schools by delays in the supply of some types of hearing aids, including replacements for those in which faults have developed.
This matter is being pursued with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Social Services. I understand that an additional source of supply of OL58 aids has been arranged, which should improve the position.
