§ Mr. Peter ThomasThe answer to the first part of the Question is that it is for the existing county councils to decide whether to initiate the procedure for the amalgamation of rural parishes. As regards the second part of the Question, I must ask the hon. Member to await my proposals for local government reorganisation.
