§ Mr. Geoffrey Lloydasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether, after consultation with local authorities of places which attract visitors for business or recreational purposes, and with the British Tourist Authority, he will introduce legislation to oblige keepers of 243W hotels, restaurants, camping sites, and similar places where accommodation is hired or meals provided, to display notices indicating how and to whom complaints about such accommodation or meals may be made.
§ Mr. Anthony GrantNo. I do not think that this is a suitable matter for legislation. If a complaint arises because it is considered that the services, accommodation or facilities have been misrepresented a complaint could be made to the local Weights and Measures authority for them to consider whether an offence under the Trade Descriptions Act had occurred.
