asked the Secretary of State for Wales what is the ratio of general medical practitioners to the population in Wales and the south-east of England, respectively.

Mr. Gibson-Watt

At 1st October, 1969, the latest date for which comparable figures are available, the average number of patients per doctor on the lists of doctors providing full general medical services in Wales was 2,232. The comparable figure for the south-east region of England was 2,445.
