HC Deb 14 December 1970 vol 808 c219W
Mr. Barry Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he is satisfied that large-scale dredging operations in Liverpool Bay will not adversely affect the Dee Estuary, in particular that sector of the estuary to be used in the Dee Barrage Scheme; what steps he is taking to monitor the situation; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Peter Thomas

I am advised that neither the present dredging operations nor those currently proposed will adversely affect any part of the Dee Estuary. Measures to assess the effects of these operations are not considered necessary.
