HC Deb 14 December 1970 vol 808 cc241-2W
Mr. John Morris

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether there are any members of any consumer consultative organisation appointed by him for any organisation other than the electricity, gas, coal and steel consultative councils; and if so at what cost.

Mr. Ridley

None.

Mr. John Morris

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what are the names of each consumer council for industries of which his Department is the sponsoring Department, the number of members, salaries of chairmen, number of staffs, expenses of members, and the total cost of each council.

Mr. Ridley

I would refer the right hon. Member to the replies given to him by my hon. Friend on 11th December about the consumer councils for the gas, coal, electricity and iron and steel industries. These are the only such councils for industries for which we are responsible.—[Vol. 808, c. 207–10.]
