HL Deb 14 December 1970 vol 313 c1268WA
THE EARL OF HARROWBY

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What the exact loss of time of journey would be in crossing between Heathrow and New York if the noise speed factor to the extent of public revulsion were confined solely to over the sea.

LORD DRUMALBYN

If commercial supersonic aircraft are prohibited from creating a sonic boom that would be heard on land Concorde would take about ten minutes longer to fly between London and New York than if no restrictions were imposed.
