§ Mr. RidleyThere are 12 electricity consultative councils in England and Wales as set out below. Each council consists of a chairman, whose salary is £2,100 per annum (paid as a part-time member of his area board), and between 20 and 30 members.

§ Mr. RidleyThe only consumer consultative council for the steel industry to which members are appointed by us is the Iron and Steel Consumers' Council established by the Iron and Steel Act, 1949, as revived and amended by the Iron and Steel Act, 1967. There are at present a chairman and 29 members; the chairman receives no salary; there are three staff (part-time); expenses of members total some £100 p.a.; the total annual cost of the council is of the order of £4,865.
