HC Deb 10 December 1970 vol 808 c189W
Mr. Kelley

asked the Lord President of the Council if he is aware that many lights in the House of Commons are using electricity for which no purpose is being served, thereby denying power for all kinds of domestic purposes because of the situation in the supply industry; and if he will take immediate steps to remedy the situation.

Mr. Whitelaw

In conjunction with the Department of the Environment, the Authorities of the House are doing everything in their power to conserve electricity, and I hope that hon. Members will also help so far as they are able.
