§ Mr. Laneasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what replies have been received from the chairmen of area training organisations to her predecessor's request for a review of the content of courses in colleges of education; and if she will place copies or a summary in the Library.
§ Mrs. ThatcherReplies received so far have only indicated the arrangements being made to meet my predecessor's request. Substantive recommendations were requested by next spring but I do not think it would be helpful to give them publicity before they have been considered by the committee which I have set up to inquire into teacher education.
