asked Her Majesty's Government:

To provide (where appropriate on the basis used in Appendix 2 of Cmnd. 3888) figures for 1967, 1968, 1969 and to the latest practicable date in 1970, of:—

  1. (i) the number of stoppages of work due to industrial disputes (distinguishing between coal-mining and the rest of the economy);
  2. (ii) the number of official, unofficial and other stoppages of work due to industrial disputes with, in the case of each category, the number of workers involved and the number of working days lost;
  3. (iii) the number of official and unofficial strikes respectively (with 1025 in each case the number of such strikes per 100,000 employees and the number of days lost per 1,000 employees) in (a) all industries and (b) the following areas of employment—coal-mining; docks (port and inland water transport), shipbuilding, ship-repairing and marine engineering; motor vehicle manufacturing; engineering other than motor-vehicle
