§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Prime Minister whether he will cause an investigation to be made to ascertain the reasons why, in view of his declared policy of improving government administration, the report of the National Board for Prices and Incomes on the pay of the higher-paid officers of the armed forces which was available on 16th October, 1970 had not, up to 1st December, 1970, been published; and whether he will take action to ensure that all official reports made to the Government in general and Ministers of particular Departments are published within 21 days of the date of receipt.
§ The Prime MinisterI would ask the hon. Member to await the statement which I shall be making later today. As to the second part of the Question, such reports are published as soon as circumstances allow.
